The time has finally come where all the exciting things we have been doing behind the scenes will be exposed to the world. Over the past 18 months, we have been putting our products to the test in what we consider some of the toughest environments we possibly can. Whether it be chasing 100kg plus southern bluefin tuna in the middle of winter 85 km off the bottom of Victoria or more recently searching for Marlin off the Sapphire coast of southern New South Wales we successfully done it all.

Shortly you will see the results of this coming to you all, knowing that all of our products have already spent countless hours being used by passionate fisherman proving themselves time and time again

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU:

As fishing people, there is a respect for the ocean and our waterways that is instilled in us all. So why aren’t we doing more to preserve and protect it?

Have you ever paid attention to how much plastic is in your local tackle shop? Whether it be the packet of swivels or hooks you need, the spool of the new braid you put on your reel, the lures hanging on the walls, it all seems to have one common packaging…. plastic

According to some sources, it is estimated that 20 percent of all plastic waste in the ocean comes from marine sources and it is suggested that half of this comes from abandoned fishing gear (the other half is attributed to fishing fleets being nets, lines and abandoned vessels)

Now ask yourself why a lure needs a clear plastic packet? We are putting these into the mouths of some of the apex predators of the ocean yet worried about someone touching it in a store? Why does the skirted lure need a plastic hang tag on it? At Reef Thief we are making a commitment to not just be another plastic packet hanging on the wall and looking for alternative options to help do our part in reducing the need for single use plastics.
