SHOTGUN: The first lure you put in the water and the lure ran furthest from the boat set just past the end of the prop wash and turbulence. The theory is the longer and skinnier the head the further out it should be run and as a result we recommend our bullet head lures in this position in a standout colour for the area you are fishing or trying to match the hatch

LONG RIGGER: for whatever reason there is one lure that keeps on delivering in this position and that’s the pine lime (a.k.a lumo). Continuing the theory of the long and narrow lures further out and the short and wide lures in close we suggest the middle ground of our slant face lures in this position. Slant face lures should be ran on the face of the pressure waves to give it the best action (refer lure positioning diagrams)

SHORT RIGGER:  depending on personal preference and the conditions on the day (if its rougher we will go with the pusher), either another slant head or a pusher can be used here. As far as colour we run a classic baitfish colouring in this position which can be consistently used anywhere you  are looking for a predatory fish e.g killer python colour

LONG CORNER: Pusher lure in either Turkish delight or Choc Orange. Getting closer to the back of the boat and into more wash we start getting a bit darker in colour with the pusher head holding in the water better.

SHORT CORNER: the shorter the head and the wider the face, the shorter the position hence why we suggest our pusher style lures to be used here. As far as color, given this lure will be ran in the most turbulent part of the wash we recommend a dark color to give off the most silhouette as possible e.g our licorice color lures

Notes:

  1. The higher the lure is on the face of the pressure wave, the steeper it is and the more aggressive the action will be (and there is more chance of the lure blowing out)
